FROM HARBOUR TO HIGH SEAS in Metropol, Autumn 2013
Get intoxicated from art in Metropol former Alko premises from the 30th of August and on unto November. Harbour and sea inspired casein tempera paintings are presented in window exhibition. Open during weekdays 9 am to 9 pm, Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm and Sundays from 12 am to 4 pm. Check the poster by clicking the thumbnail on the left (jpg) or the link below (pdf).

Splashes and flaps in Gallery Kohina 2013
The casein tempera paintings are part of Helena's this year's series "Harbour feelings". The pieces are delicate but deeply blue sights of harbours and seas. Wing flaps and wave splashes have been produced by using self made colour pastes and rubber spatulas on paperboard.
Exhibition is open from 30th of September till 19th of October 2013

There are five of my works in the exhibition. The subject is Finnish scenery or landscape. The oldest one dates to 2004 while the newest have hardly yet dried. The technique is the good old casein tempera on paperboard.

Climate change theme continues in Kisa li´brary in Kinda, Sweden. The artists are Marja Hassinen-Marjomaa, Valde Hassinen, Tuija Hirvonen-Puhakka, Merja-Leena Määttälä and Helena Vartiainen together with Swedes Veronica Gullbrandson and Inger Södergren.
